Re "What I did on my summer vacation" (Editorial cartoon, Aug. 24): Tom Meyer's cartoon on teachers is right on. But he could have added an EpiPen in the teacher's right hand and an insulin syringe in the other, and shaped her head like a pawn in a chess game. Teachers are expected to perform more and more tasks outside of their scope of practice. And because of professional ethics, they cannot divulge the content of individual problems faced in the classroom daily. We should create conditions that allow teachers to teach.
