Sacramento area warms up again after today

Daytime highs today are expected to be a bit below normal for late August, but a slight warming trend is on the way.

The high today is expected to be around 89 degrees in Sacramento, which is a couple of degrees below average for Aug. 26. The high on Sunday in Sacramento was also 89 degrees.

National Weather Service forecasters note that a high pressure system will strengthen some on Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to warmer temps.

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. South wind around 6 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 61. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southwest wind around 7 mph.

Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 62.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 93.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 88.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 84.
