Cats glance: Cats fall to Fresno, lose ground in division race

• Highlight: The River Cats' title hopes took a beating Monday with a 7-0 loss to the Fresno Grizzlies at Raley Field, while the division-leading Las Vegas 51s swept a doubleheader from the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 2-1 and 10-9.

• Tall task: The River Cats trail the 51s by 3 1/2 games, but because they don't hold the tiebreaker, they must win the Pacific Coast League Pacific South Division outright to collect their 12th division crown.

• Still a win away: Bruce Billings (13-7) failed to tie the River Cats' franchise mark for wins in a season held by Graham Godfrey (14-3) and Justin Duchscherer (14-2).

• Grizzlies' starters: Today's starter is former UC Davis right-hander Justin Fitzgerald, and Wednesday's starter is former Sacramento State right-hander Mitch Lively.

• Transaction: Infielder Dusty Coleman was added to the River Cats' roster from Double-A Midland.

• Today's game: River Cats RHP Travis Banwart (9-5, 4.56 ERA) vs. Fresno Grizzlies RHP Justin Fitzgerald (2-6, 6.05 ERA), 7:05 p.m., Raley Field.
