Re "Tractors changed farms, and America's way of life" (Viewpoints, Forum, Aug. 25): David Mas Matsumoto crafted a beautiful article talking about the changes in farming because of the tractor. He described the population changes on the farm, the reduction of the cost of food, increase in productivity of farmers, the loss of political influence and the emotional ties to the past use of draft animals on farms.
An informative yet emotional article, but without the vituperativeness of so many editorial writers. Good job.
