Re "McClintock feeds at pension trough" (Dan Morain, Forum, Aug. 25) and "Some in GOP see path for impeachment" (Page A7, Aug. 25): You have to give it to the Republicans, they are consistent in their hypocrisy.
Rep. Tom McClintock, like many in his party, is a public servant who detests government, yet feeds at the public trough. McClintock was exposed not through laws of full disclosure but through investigative reporting. McClintock, a strong opponent of public pensions, stands to receive generous pensions from CalPERS and the federal government of almost $200,000, seven times higher than the average public pension.
The GOP's top priority is to impeach the president. Grounds for impeachment are Obamacare and the IRS targeting conservative groups. The GOP had no interest in impeaching George W. Bush for lying us into war or failing to keep us safe on 9/11.
