The Bee posse's weekly update of the latest in area conditions, bargains, etc.

Course – What you need to know

Ancil Hoffman – Great shape overall; aerification of greens pushed back until late October

Apple Mountain – Best shape in past three years and not punching greens this fall

Catta Verdera – Greens, below par for a month after early July heat wave, very nice again

Diamond Oaks – Overwatered again after a period during which it wasn't

Mather – Positive from greens (very good), to fairways/tees (nice) to Friday pace (brisk)

Whitney Oaks – Some bare spots in fairways and in clumpy rough; greens relatively slow but OK; bunkers could use more sand; somewhat disappointing in general

WildHawk – Conditions strong, but Saturday pace glacial – three hours to finish front nine

Woodcreek – Recently renovated tee boxes excellent for Labor Day weekend; all else good

Aerified last week: Auburn Valley, La Contenta, Timber Creek, Turkey Creek, Winchester

Scheduled to aerify next week: Woodcreek, Yocha Dehe
