Hamburger Patties in midtown Sacramento has announced on its Facebook page that it will close its doors on Labor Day.

The purveyor of numerous, lavishly presented burgers has been operating at 1630 J St., since 1994. By closing, it leaves another hole at 17th and J streets, with the recent departure of The Beat record and music store.

Hamburger Patties’ Facebook posting said: “Friends and family ... sadly, we are announcing the end of an era. Hamburger Patties will close Sept 2. We thank you for two decades of seeing your faces, the laughs, the good and bad singing, and being able to serve you. We'll be open through this weekend if you want to come say goodbye or have a drink to celebrate the many years “Mary"”stood on the corner of 17th and J.”
