Re "Twin Rivers administrator quits" (Our Region, Aug. 24): How is it that the Sacramento County Office of Education, the state Department of Education and the Sacramento County grand jury can permit the Twin Rivers Unified School District officials to continue abusing their fiduciary responsibility to students and our community?
The story about Rob Ball, associate superintendent of business support services, submitting his "voluntary resignation" yet retaining his full salary through June 2014 reeks of corruption and most definitely a misuse of public funds. Having spent 25-plus years working for another local school district, I've seen more than my share of wasteful spending and corruption, but to just hand over $175,000 as a "parting gift" needs to be stopped. Our schools don't have nearly enough money and moves like this continue to erode any confidence in the system.
