Temperatures are expected to be above normal today and Saturday in the Sacramento region before a delta breeze arrives Sunday with cooler weather.
National Weather Service forecasters predict that the maximum temperatures today and Saturday - the final two days of August - will both reach at least 90 degrees. That will bring the total number of days in the month with readings of 90 degrees or higher to 23, according to forecasters.
In August 1967, 30 out of 31 days were above 90 degrees, the record for Sacramento.
