Sacramento weather: Hot today, then a cool down

Temperatures will reach into the mid-90s in the Sacramento region today, but National Weather Service forecasters say a cool-down is in the works for Sunday and Labor Day.

For today, the high temperature will hover around 96 degrees with clear skies. But on Sunday, temperatures will dip into the low 90s and remain there through Wednesday.

"The Delta breeze is going to pick up again," said weather service forecaster Drew Peterson.

A low pressure system moving along the West Coast may trigger a slight chance of showers for Labor Day, he added.
