Re "Bee's arena stories" Fair?" (Joyce Terhaar, Forum, Aug. 25); I would say the newspaper's coverage has succeeded in clouding the real issue in the whole debate. The real issue is how this deal with the city's parking revenue is going to work.
In March, The Sacramento Bee's editorial board pointed out how vague the details are. Months later, little has changed. By putting this issue on the ballot, the public can force the Sacramento City Council to be transparent and answer more questions. Instead of focusing on the real issue, The Bee has been throwing its resources in determining who funded the ballot initiative. The answer is a rich man in Seattle. Why does that matter?
The public demands answers. The city and The Bee haven't provided them. A vote may be our best option to getting answers, regardless of who paid to get it on the ballot.
