The Bee posse's weekly update of the latest in area conditions, bargains, etc.

Course What you need to know

Bing Maloney: Greens rolling good with decent speed; all else nice, other than No. 13 tee box

Diamond Oaks: Still wettish but in promising shape heading to fall with greens above average

Dry Creek: Greens OK three weeks ahead of aerification; crabgrass winning fight in fairways

Empire Ranch: Greens decent (a tad slow, mostly true) considering they were punched Aug. 13

Grizzly Ranch: Out-of-town (Portola) special report: Fun, challenging and superbly maintained layout with variety of tees for all to enjoy; those making trip can't wait to return

The Ridge: Good shape overall; take advantage of lunch specials because food is excellent

Rocklin: Fairways and rough very wet and sporting their share of bare spots

Teal Bend: Greens still have a way to go to fully recover from Aug. 6 punching

Turkey Creek: Twilight-rate reductions begin at 11 a.m. through end of year ($12 off peak fees Monday-Thursday, $14 off on Fridays and $19 off on weekends)

Wild Wings: May be in best shape ever; fairways tremendously improved and greens perfect

Aerified this week: Woodcreek, Yocha Dehe. Scheduled to aerify next week: Catta Verdera
