Sacramento temperatures about normal prior to hot weekend

An offshore low pressure system is expected to keep temperatures in the Sacramento area at near to below normal levels through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

On Friday, conditions start to warm. By the weekend, it will be downright hot, with daytime highs in the Sacramento region near the century mark.

The detailed, 7-day forecast from the NWS for Sacramento:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 89. South southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. South southeast wind around 9 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 87. South wind around 7 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.

Friday:Sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming north northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 66.

Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 99.

Sunday night: Clear, with a low around 65.

Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.

Monday night: Clear, with a low around 63.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
