The Ultimate Fighting Championship's final Fox event of the year - UFC on Fox 9 - will be at Sleep Train Arena on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The main card, expected to start at 5 p.m., will be broadcast nationally on Fox (FOX40 in Sacramento). The preliminary bouts, broadcast on FS1, are expected to begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale Oct. 4.

Though no bouts have been announced, mmaweekly.com speculated Wednesday that Sacramento's Urijah Faber could be featured on the card, possible in a bantamweight bout against Michael McDonald, 22, who is from Modesto.

Faber, a former WEC featherweight champion and UFC title challenger, has won three consecutive bouts, tapping out Ivan Menjivar and Scott Jorgensen before winning a unanimous decision over Yuri Alcantara at UFC Fight 26 in Boston last month.

Sacramento last hosted a UFC card in 2007, which featured a headline bout between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and challenger Nate Marquardt, who lost on a first-round TKO.
