Re "Obama is no Nixon" (Letters, Sept. 5): I am writing in response to letter writer Kevin Moen's claim that President Barack Obama's fledgling scandals can't compare to Watergate. First, we don't know how deep the IRS situation goes. No one knows where the IRS scandal will lead because the press isn't willing to investigate.
When Watergate first surfaced, it was a blip on the radar until two reporters started digging. The media took hold of it and the rest is history. No one seems to be willing to take on the Obama presidency. Moen's jibe about the previous letter writer falling victim to the "Republican lie machine" reveals his political bent. I don't think he retired. I think he leaned so far to the left he fell out of his chair hurt himself and couldn't get up.
