Re "Obama lobbying for Syria strike support" (Page A10, Sept. 6): I'm tired of America having to be the world's conscience. Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Jordan all have an air force capable of bombing targets in Syria. Why don't they step up to take care of the monster in their backyard?
Our ships sit off Syria's coast like sitting targets for the Iranians to bomb them? The next step would be to draw America into another brutal and bloody war.
President Batack Obama is not capable of making critical war decisions; he has already telegraphed what America would do and how we would do it. The Syrians are most likely scrambling to move any weapons as the president holds debates with Congress. Let Middle Eastern countries handle their problems for once, and let God be their final judge.
