Another mild day forecast for Sacramento thanks to Delta breeze

Sacramento is forecast to receive some mild late-summer weather again today as the Delta breeze provides cooling temperatures.

The high on Tuesday was 88 degrees, which is just about normal for Sacramento on Sept. 10. Today is expected to even cooler by a couple of degrees.

The National Weather Service noted that at 4 a..m. today many valley communities were two-to-10 degrees cooler than 24 hours earlier. Even the stubbornly hot northern Sacramento Valley was expected to get some relief with Redding and Red Bluff forecast to receive daytime highs today in the 90s, according to the NWS.

As for Thursday, the government forecasters say that temperatures could nudge up a few degrees due to a weakening Delta breeze. The 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 95. South wind around 6 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 90.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 88.
