Another mild day before brief warming trend in Sacramento

Temperatures are expected to warm as the Delta breeze weakens and a slight ridge of high pressure builds over Northern California.

Today’s high temperatures in the Sacramento region are expected to be in the mid-80s, up from the low 80s on Wednesday.

Daytime highs in the area on Friday and Saturday are expected to be in the low 90s. The warm-up is predicted to be brief with the Delta breeze picking up again this weekend, dropping Sacramento temperatures into the 80s again by Sunday.

The 7-day forecast from the NWS for the Sacramento region:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 7 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South southwest wind around 7 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 86.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 86.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 88.
