Re "Driver's license bill is approved" (Page A1, Sept. 13): In addition to breaking the rules about naming things after living people, the Legislature voted to name the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge after someone whose recalcitrance, along with hen Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown, delayed construction and cost billions more than it should have. Why not recognize the CalTrans patriots who had the structure fabricated in China because they thought America was incapable of such a project.
How about, the "Important but Dubiously Inspected Overpriced Trans-bay (IDIOT) Bridge"? Let's stop naming parks and structures for politicians, and place the names of a few random taxpayers on the plaques.
