Mild weather is forecast for the Sacramento area for the weekend

The National Weather Service expects temperatures to be a few degrees warmer today, but far short of any 100-degree readings.

The high today is expected to be in the low 90s in the Sacramento region. Similar temperatures are forecast for Saturday, but cooler we, breezier weather is forecast starting Sunday.

Looking far into next week, forecasters say they are starting to track a deep low pressure system that could bring rain to the region. Until that time, the weather is expected to be dry with about normal temperatures for mid-September.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento reigon from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 92. Southwest wind around 7 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 63. South wind 7 to 9 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91. South wind around 7 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61. South wind around 9 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 9 to 11 mph.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 87.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 89.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 59.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88.
