'Off the Bridge' dinner offered as budget-friendly alternative during 'Farm-to-Fork Week'

Were you unable to snag a ticket in time to the quickly sold-out “Farm-to-Fork Tower Bridge Dinner,” or just didn’t have $175 to spare? Well, here’s some good news. On September 29, the same date as the Tower Bridge dinner, Broderick Roadhouse (319 6th St., West Sacramento) will host its own multi-course meal dubbed “Off the Bridge.” This West Sacramento dinner doesn’t boast the all-star cast of local chefs who will cook for 600 people on the Tower Bridge. But the phrase “price friendly alternative” is welcome for those who want a locally sourced dinner that doesn’t cost the price of a 16GB iPod Nano.

Tickets for the “Off the Bridge” dinner cost just $40 in advance, and $45 at the door. The dinner includes a course of locally raised Mangalitsa pig, otherwise known as the “Wagyu beef of pork,” plus lamb and a variety of side dishes. And while you might not be rubbing elbows with the Mayor and Sacramento’s well-heeled foodie elite like on the Tower Bridge, these post-dinner celebrations include live music by Unsupervised, a band featuring the politically minded musicianship of Yolo County Supervisor Mike McGowan, Chris Ledesma of the West Sacramento City Council and District 1 Supervisor Phil Serna. Food trucks and adult beverages will also be offered for sale. This after-party costs just $5, or free for “Off the Bridge” attendees.
