SAN FRANCISCO

End-of-summer blues

If the end of summer has given you the blues, don’t fight the feeling. Head to San Francisco for the Polk Street Blues Festival.

In addition to listening to some quality regional acts, including Evan Thomas and Papa’s Garage, Dr. Mojo Band and Bobbie Webb, attendees can check out the arts and crafts displays and indulge in eats from gourmet food booths.

This rain-or-shine event is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 22 and admission is free. The festival on Polk Street is between Union and Pacific streets. For more details, visit www.polkstreet

Rubicon trail hike

What: A guided hiking tour from Lester Beach to Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe. Cost includes parking and lunch.

Wine-release party

What: It’s a Cajun-style wine-release celebration for Hall Wines’ 2010 “Kathryn Hall” Cabernet Sauvignon. The event includes a live Zydeco band and all-you-can-eat crawfish.

Grape to glass

International air show

What: Keep looking up — the California International Airshow in Salinas will feature the Patriots Jet Team and a variety of classic and newer performers. Proceeds go to Salinas-area charities.
