It must be pumpkin season.
At 9 a.m. Sunday, what is billed as the world's largest corn maze opens again at Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon. The 53-acre maze is about 20 miles west of Sacramento, immediately north of Interstate 80 at Milk Farm Road.
New this year is an expanded junior maze for younger children.
"We have to train them so they can get ready for the big one," joked co-owner Matt Cooley.
Admission to the patch is free, but there's an extra charge for the big maze ($10) and kid zone ($5). Cool Patch is open daily through Halloween, weather permitting. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Cool Patch sells pumpkins in dozens of varieties and offers other seasonal attractions including hay rides. Get directions and learn more at www.coolpatchpumpkins.com or call (530) 304-0163.
