Re "Bills would fortify immigrants rights" (Page A1, Sept. 14): California leads again. The headline should have read: "Bills would fortify illegal immigrants rights."
Remember not that long ago when Arizona passed a state law to address their illegal immigration problem? Advocacy groups and liberal media screamed that only the federal government and not states had jurisdiction over immigration matters.
But now is seems that it suddenly is OK for states to create their own patchwork of laws when it benefits people who have come here illegally.
California has brazenly refused to cooperate with the federal government regarding immigration holds, created sanctuary cities, and now will issue driver licenses to those here illegally. The hypocrisy of liberals never ceases to amaze me.
