Re "Congress must act now to curtail NSA's snooping" (Editorials, Sept. 13): Your editorial suggested a long-term solution. We all know how long an Act of Congress takes.
An immediate solution would be for President Barack Obama to summon the director of the National Security Agency to the White House. The director serves at the pleasure of the president. If the director violates the policy of the president, the president can relieve him immediately.
The whole process would take less than a day.
