Re "Obituary: Carl Larson helped launch prison-building program" (The State Worker, Sept. 13): It was sad to hear of the passing of Carl Larson, a guiding force for decades in the California Department of Corrections.
He was smart, knowledgeable, funny, and a pleasant guy to be around. Over the years, when things got tough, in whatever administration, Carl emerged as the architect to help guide the Department without fanfare or publicity.
He will be missed greatly.
