Re "UCD names medical dean" (Our Region, Sept. 18): Patient-centered health care? What a concept.
I am old enough to remember when doctors and the health care system knew their patients and had a personal relationship.
The assembly line approach to treating ill bodies that so many of us experience today doesn't treat the patient as a whole person, and is at best only incrementally effective, and costs more.
Some health systems are now increasing their effectiveness by taking a more comprehensive approach to their relationship and treatment of their patients. Back to the future.
