Re "How Sacramento's 'farm-fork' identity evolved" (Living Here, Sept. 18): The first local Farm to Fork event is Soil Born Farm's 11th Annual Autumn Equinox Celebration, Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Hurley Avenue Farm. This celebration of local organic produce has samples prepared by local chefs, beer, wine, a raffle and music.
Soil Born is an urban agriculture project that educates youth and adults, trains future farmers, improves access to fresh produce throughout our community and much more. Their produce is sold at the Natural Food Coop, distributed by the Sacramento Food Bank and used by many local chefs. They are an integral part of of Sacramento's farm to fork culture.
