Re "DMV lines will get longer" (Letters, Sept. 18): I go to the DMV almost once a week for my business to handle registration my fleet vehicles. I visit the offices in my area -- Woodland, Vacaville and Fairfield.
When I read the letter about DMV handling 1.4 million new licenses for immigrants, I felt sorry for the people who go there on a regular basis. There is one office I see having a problem with this new influx of people, that is the Vacaville DMV. Most of the people there are nice and helpful, but there is one lady there who just sits there, no matter how busy. She just stares at a screen at one desk or another. How will the DMV serve all these people effectively when it seems like some of the employees don't care about the public at all?
