Re "Governor's on lookout for new care since Pontiac died" (The Buzz, Sept. 20) and "Aid stalls for many jobless" (Capitol & California, Sept. 18): Gov. Jerry Brown's switch to a SUV is not more noteworthy than the egregious state Employment Development Department computer "glitch" that began in early August, continues to grow like a bad cancer throughout the state and is affecting hundreds of thousands of out-of work Californians.
This EDD error is having very real consequences for families who are working hard to get to job interviews, pay rent, pay utilities, and get their kids to school without having any unemployment benefits to put fuel in our cars or food on our table. Our lights on still on, but for how long?
We deserve answers.
