Regional Digest: Hornets to play four games at Raley Field in 2014

Sacramento State's baseball team will play four of its 32 home games in 2014 under the lights at Raley Field, Hornets coach Reggie Christiansen announced Friday.

The Hornets will host Fresno State on March 5, Air Force on March 25, Oregon State on April 21 and UC Davis on May 13.

Sac State's 2014 schedule is a challenge. The Hornets will open the season Feb. 14 with a four-game series against Utah. The Hornets then play at Fresno State, the 2008 College World Series champion, followed by three games on the road against Texas A&M.

Oregon State was a semifinalist at this year's CWS.


• The UC Davis women's golf team is in third place entering the final round of the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Betty Chen shot a 4-under-par 69 in the second round and is tied for third, five shots back.

UCD (588) trails Pepperdine (581) and Oregon (585).

• The UCD women's soccer team (2-5-1) lost 3-0 to No. 19 Texas Tech (8-1-0) at the Jack in the Box Classic in Albuquerque.

• The Sac State women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against visiting Fresno State (3-4-1). Rachel Leonard and Jordyn Rolling scored for the Hornets (3-4-1).
