Re "For now, the bar's been set too high" (Page A1, Sept. 21): As an attorney, I suppose I should be indignant about the legislative move to allow illegal immigrants (sorry, that's what they are) to obtain law licenses in California.
But let's look on the bright side: If our lawyers can be "undocumented", then why not doctors, teachers, pharmacists, nurses, police, soldiers? How about civil servants, or even elected representatives (guaranteed to work cheaper)? And once we've gone that far, what's the objection to allowing them to vote? After all, Mexico allows the same things, don't they? Actually not.
Or why don't we just do what the Democrats really want, and throw open U.S. elections to everything on two legs that lives north of Antarctica?
