Re "Jobless check-backlog rises" (Page A1, Sept. 21): While those awaiting their unemployment benefit payments are justifiably frustrated with the Employment Development Department, the blame should also be assigned to Deloitte Consulting who built the upgrade system.
Massachusetts hired the same company and is having the same issues. That state has given Deloitte a deadline to fix the problems or face fines.
Will EDD do the same? Will Deloitte apologize to the claimants as EDD has done?
