Re "GOP, Boehner vow federal shutdown out of mere spite" (Editorials, Sept. 19): Lower level needs like clothing, food and shelter must be satisfied before an individual can think about higher level needs like a job, health or self-actualization. The 600,000 uninsured people in Kentucky that were mentioned in the editorial probably have no money.
They are more likely looking for their next meal or their next cardboard box to sleep in. If they get sick, they go to an emergency room. Thinking that Obamacare is the answer for insurance for the poor is pure folly -- and Mr. Obama's elitist dream. Get real.
