Re "Bicyclist, 22, killed when struck by garbage truck" (Our Region, Sept. 25): I take issue with the title. The bicyclist was traveling on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic. He crossed in front of the truck. So, why did not the title read, "Bicyclist dies when he rides into the front of a truck."
In too many cases, the presumption is that the bicyclist is always the victim. A photo on Page A3 the same day showed showing a number of bicyclists riding over the entire lane of traffic, at night, without lights, helmets, or reflective riding gear. In my own experiences, I have seen bicyclists run stop signs, make left turns from the wrong side of the road and more. They have a responsibility for their own safety.
