The Sacramento-based Paragary Restaurant Group plans to open its new Cafe Bernardo restaurant early next month in the Pavilions shopping complex along Fair Oaks Boulevard, and the establishments bar will pay homage to local food and wine expert David Berkley.
The bar in the 3,850-square-foot restaurant will be named the Berkley Bar. Cafe Bernardo is taking over space formerly occupied by the David Berkley Fine Wines & Specialty Foods store. The Berkley Bars design was inspired by California wine country and features rustic tiles, wine barrel decor and a wooden bar top.
The Pavilions eatery will be PRG owner Randy Paragarys fifth Cafe Bernardo restaurant in the Sacramento area. Unlike the other Cafe Bernardo locations, the new cafe will offer counter service dining during the day and full-service dining in the evenings.
Cafe Bernardos approach to elevated casual dining is the perfect fit for this neighborhood of families and businesses, Paragary said.
PRG currently operates three Cafe Bernardo restaurants in Sacramento at 28th Street and Capitol Avenue, at 15th and R streets and at 10th and K streets and another at Third and D streets in Davis.
