Some bicyclists do not ride for free

Re "Bicyclists have too many rights" (Letters, Sept. 26): Not all bicyclists who ride are riding tax-free.

My main modes of transportation are by bicycle or on foot when traveling around the area. I also register my car every year with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the same can be said for a good percentage of bicyclists.

I agree that the cyclists she described were inconsiderate, but I think there are lots of cyclists who follow the safety rules of the road and do their best to not be a hazard. I've had two accidents with cars that turned into me when I was the one who had the right of way. Luckily, I wasn't hurt badly and even after that, I still love to ride.

Maybe we all need to show more consideration for every mode of transportation out there.
