Warm-up and slight chance of showers this weekend for Sacramento

Today’s weather is expected to be sunny and mild in Sacramento with a slight warming trend underway.

The mercury only reached 76 degrees on Thursday, which is 10 degrees below normal for late September in Sacramento. Today, winds are expected to be lighter and temperatures warmer with a high of 78 degrees forecast for the region.

The warm-up continues through Saturday when a daytime high is expected to reach 82 degrees. A few sprinkles could fall in Sacramento Sunday night and during the commute on Monday when a 20 percent chance of showers is predicted by the National Weather Service.

Sunday night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 75.

Monday night: A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 56.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 79.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 81.
