Sacbee Garden: Tiny garden becomes an easy-care oasis

Sacramento Bee readers share their gardening adventures.

No time for yardwork? No space for a garden? No problem, say Bill and Char Pankey of Elk Grove.

“We travel extensively and do not have a lot of time to work in the yard,” Char Pankey said. “Plus, it is a relatively small space. But it is amazing what containers and pots and an automatic drip system can do!”

Their garden “room” feels like a vacation spot with lush ferns, water features and built-in barbecue. It’s a perfect place to relax on a late-summer evening.
