Re "Plutocrats are feeling persecuted, but it's the rest of us who are suffering" (Viewpoints, Sept. 28): Columnist Paul Krugman on the cost of income inequality and the rise a small powerful group of sociopaths points out that the wealthy 0.1 to the 0.01 percent are explicit about their sense of entitlement.
They refuse to give up their benefits and they have gotten their way. A third of all the gains in income from 2009 to 2012 went to the top 0.01 percent -- those who make more than $10 million a year. They want the big house, more money, servants. But most of all, they seek adulation; they want the world to bow at their feet.
I have never read a more accurate description of our lawmakers in my life. It is a perfect representation of our elected officials who want us to do as they say but not do as we have to do. Krugman, you got it right.
