Re "Parks closed, staff idled with no dent in deadlock" (Page A1, Oct. 2): If I did my schoolwork like Congress did its work, I would never graduate from Granite Bay High. Passing a federal budget is one of the few assigned projects for Congress. Yet they didn't do it. That wouldn't fly at my high school.
Members of Congress need to stop playing political games with people's lives and do their jobs. As someone who is close to voting age, that discourages me and makes me not want to participate in a system where elected officials are allowed to fail and still keep their jobs.
