Strutting their stuff
What: The Golden State Draft Horse and Mule Club will be on hand at the Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society’s Harvest Festival to demonstrate how farming was done before the era of tractors. Draft horses and mules will pull logs and farm equipment. Other festivities include tours of a historic ranch house, pumpkin decorating and children’s crafts. When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. today and Saturday

What: The 3rd annual Sacramento Archives Crawl might just be the chance you’ve been waiting for to get up close and personal with rarely seen holdings of 23 Northern California museums or libraries, which will be on display at four host locations in Sacramento. Experts will also be on hand to teach you how to care for your own family papers, photographs, art, textiles and home movies. Free shuttle is provided between the locations through 3 p.m.

Celebrating sheep and lambs
What: Dixon presents its 27th annual Lambtown Festival with professional sheep dog trials, antique agricultural engines, a wool spinning competition and all the amenities one expects at a festival (food, vendors, music, etc.). While the kids climb rocks or swing from bungee cords, adults can check out the sheep-shearing competitors or the square dancers.

A career to remember
What: Promising a historic, emotional and nostalgic show, four performers will present various stages of the career of Elvis Presley in a multimedia musical. You’ll see the ’50s Elvis, the movie Elvis, the comeback Elvis and the concert years Elvis — all in one night. The tribute artists are supported with dancers and musicians.

Fun with Mickey
What: Mickey and Minnie join a cast of other Disney characters for “Passport to Adventure,” a show that features story lines from “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Peter Pan” and “Lilo & Stitch.” An international team of skaters performs the travelogue evening.
