Metallica band member will be at film tonight

Metallica front man James Hetfield will attend a showing of the band’s new film tonight at a Sacramento theater.

Lead singer Hetfield will introduce “Metallica: Through The Never” at the 10:40 p.m. showing at the UA Laguna Village, 8755 Center Parkway.

In the movie, which is also a performance film, a roadie played by Dane DeHaan is sent on a mission during a rock concert. The film was written by director Nimrod Antal, and Metallica band members Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.

The heavy metal band has sold more than 110 million albums worldwide. Metallica was formed in 1981 by drummer Ulrich and guitarist Hetfield.
