Columbia, Mo.-based ABC Laboratories says it will move its wholly owned subsidiary, Morse Laboratories in Sacramento, to ABC’s recently expanded campus in Missouri.
The move is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month and affects about 30 local employees. ABC said the Sacramento workers will be offered positions in Missouri. It also said it has named Kevin Clark, a Morse executive and 28-year company veteran, the new senior director of operations for the Residue and Analytical Services groups at ABC.
In conjunction with the move, ABC said it will discontinue use of the Morse brand.
Established in 1968, ABC offers product development and analytical testing services to the pharmaceutical, biotech, animal health, crop protection and chemical industries. It acquired Morse four years ago. Morse dates back to 1935, with offices at 1525 Fulton Ave.
“For many months, we’ve been sharing best practices and working to align processes,” said John Bucksath, ABC president and CEO. “ ... Demand for our services is increasing, and we had to address the Sacramento facilities. We evaluated a number of scenarios, and relocation just made the most sense.”
Bucksath said the leased Morse building is “in need of upgrades with no room to grow.”
