Another blustery day, but wind speed to diminish

Winds are not expected to be as strong today in Sacramento.

A gust of 37 mph was recorded at about 7 p.m. Thursday at Sacramento’s Executive Airport. At about the same time, the wind was gusting to 33 mph at McClellan Air Field in North Highlands.

While breezes were still strong this morning, the National Weather Service expects winds to taper in the Sacramento Valley today and also become light in the mountains Saturday morning.

The detailed, 7-day forecast for the Sacramento region from the NWS:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 84. North wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 50. North wind 6 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Light west northwest wind.

Saturday night: Clear, with a low around 52. Light north northeast wind.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 54.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 74.
