With the winds behind us, sunny skies will dominate the Sacramento area weather this weekend, the National Weather Service predicts.

“It’s as good as it gets – a beautiful, beautiful October weekend,” weather service forecaster Johnnie Powell said.

Today’s high temperature will hover at 82 degrees and move to 85 degrees on Sunday. Low temperatures will stay in the 50-degree range.

But a storm is forecast to move into the region late Tuesday, which will bring rain and, in some cases, snow for elevations at 5,000 feet or more.

“It’s the first official storm. Get ready for winter,” Powell said.
