Re "Boehner digs in, promises fight over increasing U.S. debt limit" (Page A1, Oct. 7): With the Grumpy Old People (GOP) party repeatedly changing its demands concerning the budget, health care and the debt limit, it must be difficult for journalists to keep up. As a small gesture of support for the hardworking writers covering the D.C circus, I would like to suggest adding a couple new words to the language, or at least the Associated Press stylebook.
The first new word is "negatiation." It means the action of a politician who seeks to negate everything his opponent does or says, while at the same time claiming to want to negotiate. The other word is "teamand," which means a demand that is so irrational and irresponsible that even the person making it knows it will never happen.
