Sacramento State quarterback Garrett Safron was named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the school announced Monday. He won the honor for the first time this season and the third in his career.
In the Hornets' 37-21 win at home over Northern Colorado, Safron completed 26 of 39 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 33 yards.
It was Safron's fifth career 300-yard game and his second of the year.
The Santa Monica resident ranks second in Sac State history with 41 career touchdown passes, including 16 in the last four games. He is nine shy of Ryan Leadingham's school record.
Two Aggies recognized
UC Davis senior forward Cloey LemMon and freshman forward Agustina Singh were named the Offensive and Rookie Players of the Week in the NorPac Field Hockey Conference following the Aggies' 3-2 overtime victory over No. 6 Stanford on Sunday, UCD announced.
It was UC Davis' first win over Stanford, or a nationally ranked team, since the program returned to action in 2009.
LemMon scored in the first half and recorded the game-winning assist.
Singh made key contributions on both ends of the field in her NorPac debut.
