Re "Brown reinvents his immigration stance ... again" (Viewpoints, Oct. 9): Can someone please explain why California's elected representatives appear committed to conferring rights and protections on illegal immigrants that were formerly limited to U.S. citizens?
Please don't tell me it is a matter of human rights. If that is the case, why not just open the border for any and all and drop the word games when describing someone who sneaked into the country. Such an approach would also relieve illegal immigrants from having to demonstrate for their "rights". An elected representative recently said our immigration laws are out of whack. What is out of whack is our Legislature.
