Re "Under pressure, House GOP now weighs debt deal" (Page A2, Oct. 10): Since Speaker John Boehner won't let our elected Republican representatives even attend a meeting with President Barack Obama, maybe it's time we consider cutting Congress out of the picture. They are little better than a group of elementary school kids arguing over who gets the ball.
With technology being what it is, why not let us all vote through our laptops, cellphones, or other personal electronic devices? Just figure out how to limit votes to 18-year-olds (although anyone younger would still be an improvement over the current Congress) and limit votes to one per device. Instant real democracy, instant obsolete Congress.
